More than ever, working adults are choosing Indiana Wesleyan University’s College of Adult and Professional Studies. IWU has grown by more than 200 percent since 1990. Including our traditional campus, over 15,000 students are enrolled in programs throughout Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and online, leading to certificate, undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degrees.
The growing popularity of our program reflects its design to meet the specific educational needs of adult audiences. Indiana Wesleyan University understands the special requirements of adults who are interested in receiving an associate, bachelor, or master degree while continuing to keep their professional and personal commitments. The programs in the college are designed for those working adults by combining theory with practical experience and offering that material in a convenient format.
Undergraduate and graduate degree programs are conveniently offered through evening, Saturday, and online (via the Internet) classes. Site-based classes are held at 15 Education and Conference Centers: Indianapolis (2), Greenwood, Fort Wayne, Merrillville, Shelbyville, Kokomo, Marion, and Columbus, Indiana; Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky; Cincinnati, Cleveland (2), and Dayton, Ohio. Classes are also held at more than 80 off-campus locations in the three state areas.
In addition to its instructional programs, CAPS provides off-campus support services for all of its classes. Students may access special university library services by telephone, fax, e-mail, or mail, and will receive assistance with research or bibliographic questions. It is the goal of CAPS not merely to provide classes, but to provide an "extended university" designed to meet the needs of both students and their employers by delivering quality education without requiring students to relocate.
Indiana Wesleyan University is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, www.ncahlc.org; 312-263-0456. IWU is also accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
CAPS now has more than 23,000 graduates representative of learning partnerships with more than 500 employers, school districts, corporations, health-care agencies, and organizations.
