About the Program

Welcome to IWU's Career Builders for Educators program!

This program is designed for individuals who are interested in becoming a teacher or adding an additional area of licensure. The focus of Indiana Wesleyan University's Career Builders for Educators (CBE) Program is on developing effective teaching strategies for teachers. Our desire is to see all of our students take what they learn in our classroom and use it in their classroom setting. Students take courses with a cohort group of adults. A non-traditional format provides an environment conducive to adult learning. The innovative format of the CBE Program makes it possible for you to reach your career goals without putting your life on hold.

The curriculum and instruction is designed to prepare students for licensure in Indiana and surrounding states. Development of practical approaches to the educational challenges is a major goal of the program. You may receive state licensing in Elementary or Secondary Education. Areas available in Secondary Education include: Biology, Chemistry, English, Health, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Social Studies, Spanish, and Visual Arts.

The program is designed to provide maximum convenience to the student. Registration may be completed by mail; payment may be made by check, cash, or Visa, Discover, or MasterCard. Books will be delivered to the students. A four-hour orientation is held at the beginning of the program to introduce students to IWU and to give an overall understanding of the program.
