M.Ed. Resource Guide - CHAPTER 4: ALIGNMENT CHARTS

All core courses in the M.Ed. program have been aligned with national standards (NBPTS and INTASC) and with the Five Domains of the M.Ed. Conceptual Framework. An alignment chart showing the correlation between content-specific standards in each discipline is located at the end of this chapter; that chart reflects the correlation between the content standards from IPSB, NBPTS, and the M.Ed. Conceptual Framework. The courses have also been aligned with content and developmental standards in both Indiana and Kentucky. (Charts outlining the alignment between the M.Ed. conceptual framework and Kentucky Experienced Teacher Standards may be found in Appendix D.)

Course objectives became the stabilizing element for this alignment. To consolidate space, the verbiage of each standard is not replicated on the charts; instead, references to the numbers of each item are listed in the appropriate columns. The numbers shown correspond to the M.Ed. conceptual framework and INTASC principles outlined in Chapter 3 of this Resource Guide. Other professional standards are presented as applicable. The charts on the following pages have been arranged by course number and title.

The first five core courses shown are indirectly involved with the Unifying Assessment Project. The last five core courses shown are directly integrated with the Unifying Assessment Project, and include EDU 565, 550, 553, 551, and 556.
