2. Design appropriate strategies to utilize technology to foster active inquiry and collaborative and supportive interaction among P-12 students.

Candidates will explore the strengths and weakness of the constructivist approach to teaching and apply it to technology integration.

3. Explore the use of technology to develop alternative assessment strategies.

Candidates will design lessons that provide a more authentic assessment model by studying Research Modules, Web Quest, and Telecollaborative Lessons.

4. Generate techniques to utilize data for decision-making, in doing action research.

Candidates will explore the educational uses of a spreadsheet.

Design a lesson that utilizes a power point presentation.

5. Generate techniques to enhance classroom presentation and instruction.

Candidates will explore the educational uses of presentation software.

Search strategies can help teachers and students manage the immense material available on the Internet.

6. Evaluate educational Internet sites for teaching, applications in the learning processes, and student use in research including designing WebQuest and Research Module lesson plans.

Candidates will explore the uses of the Internet to enhance student learning.

The Internet has numerous sites that contain already developed lesson that cause students to employ higher level thinking skills and through the use of the World Wide Web.

7. Appraise and compare management and instructional software.

Candidates will seek to differentiate what makes for effective software applications

Software applications that provide higher level thinking skills and direct students to meet individual needs are more effective in helping students learn.

8.  Devise appropriate uses of technology through multimedia, hypermedia, and telecommunications to enhance collaboration and problem solving.

Candidates will examine the use of multimedia, hypermedia, and telecommunications teaching projects for possible use in their classroom.

Multimedia and hypermedia can greatly enhance classroom organizations and presentations.  Telecommunication projects enhance student motivation.

9. Learn how to evaluate their personal and district use of technology and propose an agent-of-change plan to move technology forward.

Candidates will conduct a personal and school corporation technology audit and advocate a plan for improving corporation technology.

Education lags behind business and industry in integrating technology into classroom settings.  There is much to be done.

Final Presentation

Prepare a final presentation for moving technology forward in the school environment.
