Licensure

1. Near the end of your Principal Licensure Program you will need to schedule the School Leaders Licensure Assessment. This exam is required by the Indiana Professional Standards Board (IPSB) and administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS) three times each year. For information go to http://www.ets.org/sls.

2. Upon completion of all courses, successful presentation of your Applied Principal's Portfolio, and the passing of the SLLA written exam, your PLP licensing advisor will send you the application for a Building Level Adminsitrator license and a request for a Limited Criminal History Check.

3. When you return the completed forms, IWU will recommend you for a K-12 principal's license with the IPSB. The IPSB will then issue your Building Level Administrator's license you have worked so hard to achieve.

Should you choose to continue on for your Ph.D. in Education, Ed.D. or Ed.S., the PLP course work is designed to provide you with transferable credits. An articulation agreement with Indiana State University affords a seamless transition for those who have completed the PLP and wish to pursue advanced degrees at ISU.
