Licensing Requirements
To be licensed in the state of Indiana, you must satisfy your Transition to Teaching course requirements and pass the required Praxis exams. When this has been accomplished, the IWU licensing office will send a checklist and licensure application to you.
When this application along with the appropriate fees and criminal history report is received, IWU will recommend you to the Indiana Professional Standards Board (IPSB) for licensure. The IPSB will mail your license to you in about six weeks.
Teaching Openings
There are several resources available to you that list teaching openings in schools across Indiana. There is no one complete list for the state.

Center for Life Calling and Leadership
IWU's Life Calling and Leadership Center in the Maxwell Center for Business and Leadership on IWU's Marion campus is staffed with men and women trained to give and interpret personality and preference tests. A Life Coach will spend time with each student to help them better understand different aspects of his or her personality and give them advice on what aspects of teaching and education administration he or she are best suited for him or her. The Center can be reached at 765- 677-2520 or http://clcl.indwes.edu
