RNBS Completion Program
About the Program | Admission & Graduation Requirements | Course Descriptions

About the Program

The RNBS program was developed to meet the needs of registered nurses who have careers, families and extra-curricular activities. This program will help to answer questions like, "What will it mean to be a nurse in this new century?" and "What do I have to know to be a success?"

This program will examine recent changes in healthcare delivery and discuss timely issues such as nursing informatics, societal and workplace violence, and even hotter topics like genetics and cloning. The degree will also examine how the nurse's role is changing in managed care.

Indiana Wesleyan's online RNBS program is planned within the philosophy and conceptual framework of the baccalaureate program. Adult learners want to take charge of their own learning and can be mutually responsible for the education process in partnership with the faculty. The program is designed to provide the support necessary to encourage such independence and self -direction within a nurturing environment. Small project teams and other strategies appropriate for adult education contribute to mastery of learning outcomes.

Comments from a RNBS graduate:

"The IWU RNBS program can be summed up with one word, incredible! Through the direction of the facilitator, each of the courses is skillfully taught. The requirements of each of the core courses are many, but you complete each core course gaining knowledge you will keep your entire life. The curriculum is set up to help the nurse look at each patient in holistic light. This will change the way you look at nursing forever. We are taught that through our work as nurses, we are to be `World Changers.' A world changer is someone that through his or her actions changes a person in a positive way forever. The knowledge and friendships that I have gained through this program will stay with me forever. I can only hope that you will consider IWU for BS completion program. You will not regret it!"
