Admission Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree from a state-accredited college or university verified on original transcripts sent by the institution directly to Indiana Wesleyan University.
2. A copy of a valid (but not necessarily current) state issued teaching license (not a limited or an emergency license).
3. Passing Scores on the Praxis 1 – Math 175, Reading 176 and Writing 172
   • NOTE: For Indiana teachers who received their original license after July 1, 1985, a copy of your original license will serve as proof of acceptable scores. .
4. Satisfactorily pass and submit a criminal history background check and sexual offender screening.
   • All applicants must have a limited criminal history check performed on them and give permission for a sexual offenders screening. The first step is to complete the Request for a Limited Criminal History Check form with your State Police Department.

Graduation Requirements

Program Completion Requirements

1. Successful completion of the 24 semester hour curriculum
2. A grade of C or higher in each of the seven graduate level courses with a GPA of 3.0 or better
3. Satisfactory completion of the Applied Competency Assessment Portfolio
4. Payment of all tuition and fees.

Licensing

1. An application for licensing with the Indiana Wesleyan University licensing officer.
2. A current Indiana Criminal History Background check.
3. Passing scores on the Praxis Special Education test -- 0353 and 038-- under Rules 2002.
