Class Representative Handbook
Adult and Professional Studies

Responsibility to the University
The Class Representative's responsibility to Indiana Wesleyan University includes:
  1. DISTRIBUTING books and materials to each student once they are delivered to the class location. Any problems regarding delivery or return of materials should be directed to the Resources Dept. at (800) 621-8667 ext. 2854
  2. COMMUNICATING information from the university to the class in a timely manner.
  3. CONTACTING the assigned chaplain when individual or group needs arise that warrant pastoral intervention.
  4. REPORTING newsworthy items to the Alumni Office, such as promotions, marriages, births, individual or group accomplishments and rewards.
  5. REMINDING students to contact the Office of Student Services with any name, address, telephone or email change. This can be done by: calling (800)621-8667 ex. 2359, sending address change form (See Forms) to IWU, faxing form to 765-677-2380 or accessing IWU website at:
  6. ATTENDING class representatives meetings when needed. Class Representatives will be notified in advance of the dates and locations.
  7. INTRODUCING faculty and communicating syllabus changes to the class. Prior to the last night of each course, the Class Representative will receive by mail a faculty information sheet for the next facilitator along with an updated roster. The Class Representative is to contact the facilitator to inquire about any changes or information that needs to be communicated to the class. Questions concerning a faculty member should be directed to the Academics Department at (800) 621-8667 ext. 2271
  8. ENCOURAGING students to send comments regarding courses by completing an End-of-Course Survey and occasionally distribute paper surveys, when provided by the University, regarding courses to class members. The Class Rep will collect all completed paper surveys and send them in the provided return envelope to the Research Specialist in Marion.
