Responsibility to the Core Class
| The Class Representative's responsibility to the class includes: |
| |
1. |
FACILITATING a time of class dialogue, usually at the beginning of each class for announcements and sharing information. This time should last no longer than five (5) minutes unless the facilitator gives advance permission to extend the class dialogue. |
| |
2. |
DEVELOPING a telephone calling chain for informing students of important information outside of class time, such as class postponement, cancellation, changes in class schedule, or location changes. In the event of bad weather, the Class Representative will be notified by the University if classes are to be postponed. The Class Representative will then activate the telephone calling chain. |
| |
3. |
ASSISTING in the restructuring of study groups when a student is added or a class member withdraws from the core. |
| |
4. |
PROVIDING an updated, typewritten list of study groups and their members for new facilitators. |
| |
5. |
ENCOURAGING study group members to resolve issues within their group. The Class Representative is not responsible for troubleshooting study group issues. When the Class Representative becomes aware of a study group's inability to resolve an issue, the Class Representative should encourage members of the study group to contact the facilitator and /or Student Services Advisor for assistance. Refer to Study Group Handout for information regarding study group interaction. |
