Academic Advising

The staff of Student Services provides a variety of advisement and counseling services for all adult students prior to and throughout the program. Academic Advising is mandatory for undergraduate students.

What will occur during academic advising?

Your Student Services Advisor will explain to you in detail the options for additional credit. The various credit options are:

CLEP/DANTES
Prior Learning Portfolio
Correspondence courses
Indiana Wesleyan Elective Classes
Coursework at other accredited colleges/universities.

When will I be advised?

It is required that you be advised prior to starting classes, if you are an undergraduate student. After your application file has been completed, we will evaluate all of your transcripts and determine your eligibility for admission. Following that determination, you will be able to set up your appointment for academic advising by calling 765-677-2359 or 800-621-8667 ext 2359.

Your advisor will also visit your core class early in the program to provide an overview of Indiana Wesleyan University services, policies, and options.

Where will I be advised?

Academic advising takes place throughout Indiana in all locations where we hold undergraduate classes.

Online students will receive their academic advising via telephone or live chat.

Talking with an Academic Advisor is necessary to assist you in understanding and completing all degree requirements (core courses and electives as applicable) in a timely manner.
