How do I qualify for honors?

Graduation honors are a recognition given to undergraduate baccalaureate students at commencement to acknowledge outstanding grade point averages earned. Eligibility for honors is determined as follows:

  1. A minimum of 80 graded hours from regionally accredited institutions (also institutions accredited by the American Association of Bible Colleges).
  2. A minimum of 40 graded hours must be from Indiana Wesleyan University.
  3. For transfer students, all graded hours transferred and transcribed are counted.

Baccalaureate degree candidates will be awarded honors as follows:

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher - "cum laude" (with honors)

Is the graduation facility accessible for special needs individuals?

Yes, every entrance is accessible. Please call Tammy Smith at 765-677-2763 or email tammy.smith@indwes.edu if you will have a guest attending who has a special need. We reserve floor space, including space for wheelchairs, for anyone who cannot climb or sit in the bleachers. The east side gymnasium door is the most easily accessible and has reserved parking. Our ushers will escort your guest to the reserved area. A wheel chair will be available at the door and can be used to transport your guest to a chair. Please let us know, also, if your guest needs a chair other than a folding chair. We can provide padded arm chairs if requested in advance.
